bio

I am a writer in the morning, therapist in the day, and teacher in the evening.
I write about yoga, ayurveda, and evolution. I write poetry, novels, posts and fragments.
As a therapist, I try to hold space for people as they illuminate and integrate the shadows of body and heart. In the background of any meeting, I am aware of my knowledge and training in ayurveda, yoga, psychotherapy, and philosophy. Often, these disciplines provide useful experiments, and protocols. But I try to be careful to not let what I think I know encroach upon the person, their unique growth – or mine. I try to hold my tools lightly, because they change.
I teach courses in ayurveda and yoga philosophy based upon the ongoing research of writing, and the ongoing experience of practical therapy. My approach is student-centered, example-focused, and Socratic. I teach asana as well, mostly in a therapeutic context.
I live in Toronto with my partner Alix Bemrose, and our baby boy, Jacob.
This is my full resume.
